Extra Curricular Programs
Youth Choir
Under the direction of our choir director, our youth are taught Hebrew music with an emphasis on liturgy and modern Israeli tunes. They also learn the music of our youth movement. The choir leads us in prayer at all the family services and performs at community celebrations and special holiday programs. Vocal skills are developed as part of the overall process.
Dance, Drama and Community Involvement
When interest is sufficient, we also offer a dance and/or drama program/bible contest/creative writing.
Junior Youth Group
Monthly dinners before Tuesday school and regular community programs offer interesting social programs for students in Grades 7 and 8. Jon Zinman is our Junior Youth Advisor.
Senior Youth Group
League of Temple Sinai Senior Youth, LOTSSY, is run by a dedicated group of teenagers and is supervised by a professional youth advisor. An active group of teenagers participates in recreational activities, athletics, Havdalah services and programs as well as social action, community and
Temple events. Our youth group is a member of the North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY), the international Reform youth movement. Through LOTSSY, participants will learn, share and contribute. Best of all, participants will meet other youth with similar interests and goals. Randy Starr is our LOTSSY Advisor.
Trips/Programs of Special Interest for Grade 7 and above
A variety of trips complement our
Religious
School curriculum. Our trip program is subsidized through the generous support of Brotherhood and Women of Temple Sinai as well as with the assistance of UJA Federation of Toronto and The Mercaz—The Centre for Enhancement of Jewish Education, allowing all students to benefit.
