Temple Sinai Teen Israel Trip

March 7-15, 2007

Day 1 - Busy day after the flight.  Went to Kibbbutz Gezer and found out about the bible and Israel in an interactive way.  Planted our roots with a tree as a group.  Then to view Jerusalem and have an orientation.

Day 2 - Morning and afternoon in the old city.  Saw the area from the perspective of the first and second temple.  Time for Israeli lunch of falafel and schwarma.  Then off to meet our Israel buddies and have a service at Kol HaNeshama.  

Day 3 - Shabbat Shalom.  Here we are on Mount Scopus after our service facing the old city.  Heard the many sounds of prayer in Jerusalem from afar.  We also have some pictures of our hike behing Yad Kennedy in the mountains overlooking Jerusalem.  Hope to post some  more tomorrow.  Masada still to come. 

Day 4 - Here we are spending the day at Masada and then Ein Gedi.  We are learnig about the zelots and their actions in the defense of the community.

Day 5 - Here are some fun pictures from our Dead Sea experience.  Today (Monday) we spent the morning at Yad Vashem.  Then off to Har Hertzel.  After a great dinner at Tico house, we toured the Tunnels under the Kotel.  Full day with many emotions.  We also took time to shop on Ben Yehuda Street in Jerusalem.

Day 6 - Some pictures of the group at an archeological dig, a visit to the Ayalon Institute where the Haganah had amunition made in secret and our stop at Independence House with a singing of Hatikvah in the same room that the State was declared in 1948.  Of couse, some pictures at dinner at Meganda restaurant.
