Congratulations to Dr. Jeremy Friedberg and his company Sponge Lab Interactive who were awarded a United Nations World Summit Award for excellence in the educational content of their computer game for teaching biology. Jeremy is son of Laurel and Martin Friedberg.
Congratulations to Robert Fine, Manager of the Central Okanagan Economic Development Commission, who is the recipient of the 2009 Business Leader of the Year award, which recognizes his leadership and outstanding contribution to the Kelowna business community. Robert is the son of Beverley and the late Irving Fine.
Congratulations to Aimée Israel, who has been named one of Canada's Top 100 Women Entrepreneurs by PROFIT magazine. The 11th Annual PROFIT W100 list profiles the country's most successful female business owners. Aimée is the daughter of Kitty & Paul Tepperman.

North York Commemorates Irving Paisley z"l with Park Renaming

City of Toronto representatives honoured the many contributions of Irving Paisley to the citizens of the Township of North York with a sign unveiling ceremony at WindfieldPark, 321 York Mills Road. Irving Paisley was a councillor in the former township of North York. As a controller for North York, he served several terms on Metro Council. Paisley’s thirty year municipal career culminated in being appointed deputy mayor of the City of North York. Paisley was responsible for spearheading the building of YorkFinch GeneralHospital and became its founding Chairman.

Ninety-six-year-old Kitty Cohen walked 44 km in the Princess Margaret hospital's Weekend to End Breast Cancer.
